Online Worship Guide

January 25, 2026

Welcome to PCC's Online Worship Guide. We use these when our services can't be in person, so this page is a little unique. Thanks for joining us for worship from wherever you are today. Instead of just hitting play and watching a continuous video, this page is designed to make you an active participant. You are the worship leader in your home, and this is a tool that we have created to help you engage in a special time of devoted worship.

If you have family or roommates, gather them together to join you. If you are on your own, consider coordinating with a friend or family member to work through this page together over the phone or to reflect on your worship afterwards. We recommend displaying this on the largest screen available and suggest that you keep the controls close by so that you can easily move on from one component to the next. At times, you will be prompted to engage with a video by singing or listening, and there will be other times for you to read something and then respond in prayer.

Thanks for joining us online for worship this morning! You can begin by watching the Welcome & Call to Worship video below.

If you have more questions about Peninsula Community Chapel, the gospel, or how you can get involved, we would love to hear from you (communication card).

Prayer for the Hurting

The God we love invites us to worship him. One primary way for us to worship him is how to care for one another. He tells us to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2) and to pray for one another (James 5:16). Please spend some time praying for those who are suffering in our church body and in our broader community. Use this prayer as a guide.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being a Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction. Thank you for how you are near to the broken-hearted and for how you save the crushed in spirit. Many among us are feeling broken-hearted and crushed in different ways today.

We pray now…
…for those who are grieving the death of a loved one,
… for those who are without work, or are experiencing economic hardship…
…for those who are suffering from depression, anxiety, and other mental health struggles…
…for those who are sick or injured...
…for those who are lonely, isolated, or homebound…
…for those persevering through difficult circumstances or strained relationships…
…for those who feel their prayers have gone unanswered…
…for those longing for deliverance from oppression or addiction…
…and also, for those who are anxious about world events and global conflict.

Our hearts are grieved by this suffering. Your Word tells us: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all…The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned” (Psalm 34:19, 22). And so, we pray, Heavenly Father, that you would help us and those around us to turn to Jesus for hope and peace. He is the prince of peace and our only refuge. Help us to trust that you will work out all things, for your glory and for our eternal good.

In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen

Ministry Report

Kim & Annie Colich have been long-time global ministry partners here with PCC, and we are so thankful for this update from them. Their work translating the Bible for the Tami people has been a 35-year-long process, and we are so thankful to hear that it is coming close to completion. To learn more about their ministry in Papua New Guinea, you can view their page on our global ministry site here, where they share their prayer requests and updates.

To support their work and ministry, use this giving link for the Coliches.

Join us in praying for Kim & Annie’s projects:
1) New Testament typeset
2) Audi Bible recording of the New Testament
3) Children’s Bible Story Book.

Praise God for the work that has been done and pray for the completion of these projects. May God be glorified and the Tami people reached by these projects. May many Tami come to know Jesus through them.

Pray for joy and endurance in their final work, that they will finish well and honor God our King.

Worship Through Giving & Music

Take a moment to give God thanks for His provision, to pray for God's continued provision for his people, and to thank him for sparing no expense in giving his one and only Son in order to rescue and redeem us.

If you would like to give to the work of God here at PCC you can use our giving link here. We are so thankful for the ways that God has generously provided through our congregation for the work here at PCC.

Announcements, Sermon & Prayer

Luke 10:38-42 (ESV)
38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Reflection Questions

Use these questions to reflect on what you've heard and read:
  • Are you daily setting aside time to simply sit at the feet of Jesus?
  • How would your time, schedule, and commitments change if you were?
  • What would it look like to view corporate times of sitting at his feet with reverence in your life?
  • How would abiding in Him transform your service to him?
