[Ground]breaking News!
Welcome to the PCC Construction Blog! We plan to use this throughout the project to keep you updated on what’s happening and share various text, picture, and video updates. To catch you up to this point, here’s an overview of how we got here:
Early 2022 to Mid 2023
Summit Christian Academy (SCA) identified the need for classroom expansion and replacement of the rapidly aging classroom / office trailers. They received approval from PCC's Board of Elders to design and pay for an addition to PCC. An engineering firm was hired to develop and submit a new site plan to PCC’s property (often a lengthy process) and approval was finally received from York County in August of 2023.
Mid 2023 to Mid 2024
Initial cost estimates for SCA’s planned addition came back higher than anticipated and was exceeding what they would be able to afford, largely due to a costly grammar school relocation and build-out that had just been completed. At the same time PCC had experienced continual growth since Covid reopening and was running out of space for student ministry (PSM) and office space for staff. PCC & SCA prayerfully considered financially partnering together to build a two-story addition to the building, with the first story primarily serving SCA’s needs and the second story primarily serving PCC’s needs. PCC membership overwhelmingly voted “yes” to proceed with a new capital campaign at a special membership meeting on February 4, 2024 and “The Next 40” capital campaign was launched in April of 2024. The campaign garnered strong support from PCC as did SCA’s separate campaign. PCC & SCA developed a floor plan together of needed spaces and building design, and a Request for Proposal was sent to Spain Commercial in July of 2024 to design and build the addition.
July 2024 to May 2025
Spain accepted our request which kicked off months of meetings, designing the addition, and getting price quotes. Once pricing was in hand, PCC was able to secure financing and PCC’s Membership voted and approved the additional mortgage amount on March 23, 2025. Spain acquired the building permit, a small issue with the site plan was detected, re-submitted, and approved on May 12, 2025, and the land disturbance permit application has been submitted which is the final hurdle before Spain mobilizes onsite, which is anticipated to be in early June.
Groundbreaking Ceremony
On April 27th, PCC & SCA held a groundbreaking ceremony and picnic to commemorate the start of the project together with over 400 in attendance.

We’re so excited to get this project going and to see how God will use this addition in the lives of hundreds of students in the years to come. Lord willing, we’re hoping to move into the new addition sometime in early spring of 2026!
